23 Things for Professional Development -Thing 2 (Investigate some other blogs)

Interesting! Interesting indeed. I have now successfully visited some blogs and I’ve been amazed at the different yet so interesting ways people express themselves online. I have visited blogs of newbies like me who are just treading the waters of blogging and are unsure of web 2.0 and yet very enthusiastic about trying and I’ve also visited sites of blog gurus who are so sure of what they are doing and write confidently knowing they have followers to read them up.

What interests me so much is the different brand names I encountered. Some names are so simple and straightforward, some are like mine, combination of personal names while some brandnames are the ones that catch your attention and make you laugh and shake your head at the same time.

Names that have captivated me are like: Diarrhoea of a madwoman (Waoh!). Did you see this…? (You can’t help but be curious to see it), Dents in the damage (A definite blog guru who even has paypal embedded in her blog!), Daffodils in the library, Cats in a library (you’ll be amazed at how many things people find in a library other than books. The lucky librarian ( I thought I was the only one!)

I love the brand name Dewey Diamond and I also love Daydream Believer and I love her motto: 'using web 2.0 in a desperate bid to become more efficient… we have the tools-now all we have to do is find the time to use them properly'( it made me chuckle).

It’s now becoming worrisome, I have not found a follower! (wonder who the first person will be).

I have changed the look of my site maybe the black background I had before was a little bit discouraging to people ( can't help it though, I simply love black and white).
Anyway till next time…

  2. Hi Josephine
Thanks for your visit and comments. Like your blog - you seem quite busy and familiar with publishing. The visual "brand" is very soothing :)

  3. Hi Jo - nice to meet you! Thanks for your lovely comments about my blog (& there was me thinking it was a bit pointless as nobody would ever read it). I tried to post a comment to you some time ago - but I've been having difficulty posting any comments to anyone (technical problems!) then today, a colleague told me to access the Internet via Google Chrome (instead of Internet Explorer) and hey ho - I can post comments! Lovely blog about your daughter's achievements, by the way . . .
