Well, yes. This is getting deeper and deeper and is requiring me to think more and more deeply about my blogging and what it entails. Thing 3 is an invitation to think about the image we are projecting as professionals in the virtual world. I have had a thought about all the aspects that were mentioned.
Name: I’ve reflected a lot about this... Name, what name?
I believe so much in names. I don’t choose names randomly and I have deliberated on so many options but couldn’t really settle for anyone of the other options.
I have come up with wild names, professional sounding names that would reflect I am a librarian and even randy names but none satisfied me. I am a very dynamic and soulful individual and I don’t see myself choosing a name other than the one I connect with therefore I have at the end of the day (or days if you know what I mean) decided to settle for my current brand name. Jokemi it’s going to be. I use the same name in my Twitter account only that I added number 2 to differentiate between both (Jokemi 2). This is a combination of both my names which I have answered to since I was born and which people from all over the world know me by, anyone being free to choose whichever one they can mouth comfortably without biting their tongue, Josephine Kemi. That settles name branding then.
Photograph: Yeah, I have searched through my collection of photographs that have been lucky to get scanned into the computer and my Facebook account and I think I would still hold on to this one. It’s the same photograph I have in my Twitter account anyway. Maybe I might be lucky to take a fantastic one in the near future and change it
Personal/Professional identity: I think I would rather have both merged as I believe the type of person I am would always reflect in my professional identity. People have always talked about ‘switching off’ but I don’t believe this is workable.
Visual brand: I have always loved black and white, not that I would admit it to you a few years back but I found out I was always picking anything in black and white if given choices and so I came to realise I must have loved it. Ask me many years ago what colour I love I would tell you lilac or pastel blue because I get compliments whenever I wear cloths in these colours but I have noticed I would rather choose black and white for anything, unless they were not part of the choices anyway.
My blog was in black and white before I joined the 23 Things Professional but I thought it might look discouraging to people and possibly why I wasn’t getting any comment so I changed it to sky blue of which Anna has commented nicely. So I am leaving it as it is presently. It matches with my Twitter account too so all the better.
